Victoria well represented over in Las Vegas at SKUSA Supernationals 21!

Victoria had 6 drivers competing in one of the worlds biggest karting events the SKUSA Supernationals 21 at the make shift street circuit in the heart of the spectacular city of Las Vegas in the United State of America over the weekend of November 16 to 19.

Some 500 drivers were competing at the huge event with close to 30 drivers from Australia competing with old Aussie karter Daniel Ricciardo event in attendance across the event.

Australia walked away with two winners with Josh Car and Kris Walton both recording victories, see the full results from the Aussies at the bottom of the page.

Kristian Janev (Eastern Lions Kart Club) and Peter Bouzinelos (Go-Kart Club of Victoria) were competing in the Micro Swift class, James Wharton (Eastern Lions Kart Club) and Will Harper (Geelong Kart Club) were competing in the Mini Swift class with David Sera (Geelong Kart Club) and Christian Pancione (Oakleigh Go-Kart Racing Club) competing in the X30 Senior class.

Kristian was competing in one of his first international karting events at the weekend racing in the Micro Swift class at the SuperKarts! USASuperNats 21 in Las Vegas alongside Peter Bouzinelos from the Go Kart Club of Victoria.
Out of 38 competitors Kristian qualified 25th, stormed up to 18th in Heat 1, 17th in Heat 2, 27th in Heat 3 and put in a great drive picking up 6 position to come home in 13th in the 12 lap Main Event Final.

Cadet 9 driver Peter Bouzinelos from the Go-Kart Club of Victoria was racing in the Micro Swift class at the SuperKarts! USA SuperNats 21 in Las Vegas alongside fellow Victorian Kristian Janev.
Out of 38 competitors Peter qualified 27th, finished Heat 1 in 20th, Heat 2 in 26th, Heat 3 in 22nd and in the 12 lap Main Event Final came home in 25th position.

Will was competing in one of his first international karting events at Las Vegas alongside fellow Victorian James Wharton and Queensland’s Marcos Flack in the Mini Swift class that was sponsored by IAME USA West. Will qualified 21st out of 69 competitors and finished 7th in the Heat 1 (A VS D), 16th in Heat 2 (A VS C), 32nd in Heat 3 (A VS B) and in the 12 lap Main Event Final drove through the field gaining 14 positions to come home in 19th position.

It’s been a huge couple of months for Eastern Lions Kart Club driver James Wharton and his team, who competed at the Rok Cup International Final in Italy, Rotax Max World Championships in Portugal and SuperKarts! USA SuperNats 21 in Las Vegas at the weekend and doing Australia proud in all events.
After qualifying 22nd out of 69 total entrants in the Mini Swift class James finished the Heat 1 (B VS C) in 11th, Heat 2 (B VS D) in 14th, Heat 3 (A VS B) in 8th and came home in 14th position in the 12 lap Main Event Final.

Christian Pancione from the Oakleigh Go Kart Racing Club raced in the X30 Senior Class at the SuperKarts! USA SuperNats 21 in Las Vegas alongside fellow Victorian David Sera and Aussies Joshua Car, Ben Harders, Tayla Cullinane, Brendan Nelson, Cody Gillis and Reece Cohen.
Christian qualified in 41st position out of 94 competitors and made up 6 positions in Heat 1 (A VS D) finishing in 15th, finishing in 21st in Heat 2 (A VS C), moved forward 6 positions to finish Heat 3 (A VS B) in 15th and in the 20 lap Main Event Final moved up a few positions to come home 22nd.

 

David Sera from the Geelong Karting Club was competing alongside fellow Victorian Christian Pancione and fellow Aussies Joshua Car, Ben Harders, Tayla Cullinane, Brendan Nelson, Cody Gillis and Reece Cohen in the X30 Senior Class in the SuperKarts! USA SuperNats 21 in Las Vegas.
David had finished 2nd at the event on multiple occasions in 2010, 2013 and 2014 and was looking to go one better in 2017.
After qualifying 30th out of 94 competitors David finished Heat 1 (B VS C) in 12th, Heat 2 (B VS D) in 10th, Heat 3 (A VS B) in 24th and in the 20 lap Main Event Final finished with an unlucky DNF.

 

Go onboard with New Zealand’s Madelime Stewart who regularly competes in Australian Karting events for a lap around the Las Vegas circuit in her KZ2 machine at SuperNats 21.

 

Formula One driver and previous Aussie karter Daniel Ricciardo was on site at SuperNats 21 in Las Vegas over the weekend with Oakleigh Go Kart Racing Club Christian Pancione running a Ricciardo kart over in Las Vegas (pictured 2nd from left in blue).
