Background
On 13 January 2016, TRI 16 02 was issued so as to alleviate issues that had arisen with the supply of CIK homologated rear wheel protection devices. Those issues have now been resolved and KA has been advised by the major importers that sufficient supplies of these devices and the fixing kits are now available.

Technical Rules Chapter 1 Rule 8 Rule (vii) prescribes the following:
“(vii) Rear Impact Protection 1) Must be fitted at all times during a Meeting. 2) Must be a CIK-FIA Homologated rear impact protection device.”

Technical Rules Chapter 1 Rule 8 Rule (vi) prescribes the requirements for the fitting of a Rear Bumper Bar to a kart (that may be used at times other than during a Meeting.
Procedure TRI 16-02 is now formally withdrawn and as of this date can no longer be applied. Competitors are now required to comply in full with Technical Rules Chapter 1 Rule 8 Rule (vii) at all times.
