Australia largest female karting event the 2024 Pink Plate was held at the Albury-Wodonga Kart Club over the weekend of January 27/28 in warm beautiful sunny conditions, with social karting practice held on Friday.
Lady drivers and their teams from all over Australia descended on Albury for the annual event with over half of the drivers from interstate including one team from Western Australia alone consisting of 12 drivers.
The annual fundraising campaign for Breast Cancer Network Australia was running in-conjunction with the meeting and as of the Sunday night of the event the ladies had raised over $12,487 which is an amazing effort!
Bethany Koch and Audrey Rogers were announced as “Queen” and “Princess” of the fundraising campaign for raising the most both from the Mildura Kart Club, a super job by both girls!
All of the ladies put on a fantastic display of skilful driving and clean close racing across the weekend with many of the finals going right down to the line, in KA3 Senior Light Isabel Rowe defended her Pink Plate title while in the young Cadet 12 class it was a Queensland triplets Flack trifecta with Paige, Chelsea and April taking 1st, 2nd and 3rd together at the line in a first the Flack family and quite possibly a first in any form of motorsport to have such a result.
A big thank you to Sheree and her team from the Albury-Wodonga Kart Club for putting on such a great event and we look forward to seeing it continually build into the future.
Congratulations to all of the ladies that competed we hope you had a great weekend at Albury, a big thank you to all those that traveled from interstate and we hope you have a safe trip home and hopefully we can see you again at the meeting in 2025.
