Over 140 kart drivers and their teams across 14 classes were racing for glory at Round 4 of the 2017 Golden Power Series at the Albury-Wodonga Kart Clubs newly extended Sheathers Road Kart Complex at the weekend.
Everyone at the circuit was greeted with ice cold frosts in the mornings that lead into beautiful clear and sunny conditions for Karting considering it is the middle of Winter.
The meeting was one of the biggest meetings held at the Albury Club since the new track extension which meant a whole new set of benchmark lap records were recorded by many of the drivers across a lot of the classes.
Some great racing was held across the weekend with some of the regional drivers using their local knowledge to their advantage and putting in some strong performances, with the Gippsland Go-Kart Club drivers taking out the win in 4 classes, Rochester Kart Club 3 class wins and 3 class wins by drivers from the hosts the Albury-Wodonga Kart Club. In the KA4 Junior Heavy class it was a Somers family / Eastern Lions Kart Club trifecta with Regan 1st, Conor 2nd and Declan 3rd in a great weekend for the family.
Checkout the podium placings below and some of the great photos by the Albury-Wodonga Kart Club and Pace Images from the meeting and get ready for another big top up of racing excitement (and Vitamin D) at the beautiful warm and sunny Swan Hill Kart Club, for Round 5 of the Golden Power Series next month on the 19th and 20th of August.
