LET'S GET BACK TO RACING,

BACK TO KARTING!

2022 Golden Power Series goes down to the line at Gippsland, prize draw

The final round of the 2022 Golden Power Series was held at the Gippsland Go Kart Clubs Tramway Park Raceway last weekend with over 180 entries, but quite a few unable to attend due to the recent flooding.

Conditions were humid on Saturday and the anticipated heavy rain arrived around lunch time during qualifying making conditions treacherous for quite a few of the classes.

The track soon dried for the start of the heats with many classes producing exciting racing across the weekend due to Gippslands tight but fast and flowing layout as some classes went down to the wire to decide the overall championship winners.

On the Saturday night the end of year dinner and prize giving ceremony was held in the Gippsland Go Kart Club club rooms with almost a sellout attendance. Gippslands canteen putting on a feast for everyone with Gippsland club stalwart and Karting Victoria life member Graeme Monds bringing his fast wit and sense of humour to light up the prize giving ceremony keeping all entertained. With over $50k in prizes thanks to all of the series sponsors there was a huge amount of prizes given away, with the 3 biggest prizes going to:

Tecno kart chassis – Blair Van Ree
Parolin kart chassis – Phil Stradbrook
Engine – Mel Roberts
