Just over 240 individual drivers competed at this years 2018 Victorian Kart Championship with almost 190 lining up to begin the championship at the Geelong Kart Club’s Beckley Park Raceway on the 6th, 7th and 8th of April with the Sunday finals held in extremely windy and blustery conditions. With over 170 drivers making the journey to Todd Road, Port Melbourne to race at the Go-Kart Club of Victoria for Round 2 on the 6th, 7th and 8th of July with rain clearing for the Sunday finals.

Round 2 of the Victorian Kart Championship results at the Go-Kart Club of Victoria
Just over 170 drivers competed at the final round of this years Victorian State Championship with Round 2 of the Vic Kart Championship held at the Go Kart Club of Victoria, Port Melbourne last weekend (July 6th, 7th and 8th).
Cold and rainy conditions greeted the drivers and teams as predicted over Friday’s practice and Saturdays qualifying / early heats but conditions cleared up for Sunday, with only some light rain visiting the circuit at various times throughout the day. The light rain was enough to make the track unexpectedly slippery at times for drivers on their slick tyres and caught the odd driver out as they battled to find grip.
Almost all of the finals produced some fantastic close racing with plenty of great passing that kept the crowds watching trackside enthralled with just about all finals coming down to the final lap, and on occasions the final corner to decide the eventual Round winner and new state champions.
